Community Guidelines
A.D.A.B.
These guidelines keep all ICOI YP spaces—events, group chats, and online interactions—respectful, welcoming, and faith-aligned.
A
Accountability · Each member is responsible for their words & actions
Example: As a Young Professional, you are by definition an adult. You are responsible for your words, actions, and decorum at YP events and may be barred from events because of your actions.

Development · Commit to personal growth
Example: Approach each gathering as an opportunity to develop your character and knowledge. Listen with humility, and when you speak, do so in a way that builds understanding, not division.

Acceptance · Value people regardless of faith level or background
Example: Uplift a sister for wearing the hijab instead of putting her down for not wearing it to your expectations. Realize not everyone is on the same iman trajectory as you or follows the same scholarly opinions as you.

Boundaries · No crossing into inappropriate or disrespectful behavior
Example: If you think your comments will make a brother or sister uncomfortable, then you shouldn’t be saying it—full stop. The opposite gender are more than just potential suitors; they are your brothers and sisters in Islam foremost and always deserve utter respect.
Scope, Reporting & Enforcement
- Applies to all ICOI YP events, online spaces, and communications; participation implies agreement.
- Report any issue to yp@icoi.net or anonymously via this form.
- Organizers may issue warnings, removals, or bans for violations.
